Okay, not links but ... Breakfast in my casa in Havana. Fresh fruit, fresh juice, fresh bread, great butter. What more can I say? El Ajibe. Great Restaurant in Miramar, Havana. Cigar store right next door. Santiago de Cuba. What can I say? It was the best part of my whole trip! I loved sitting outside of Professor Eduardo's casa and just watching the neigborhood. The dogs were great and the children were beautiful. (Okay, maybe the men were more beautiful, but ...) The Bus Ride. What can I say? It was the second best part of my trip! Coco Cab. Remember Evelyn, our great coco cabdriver? He was such a gentleman. When he knew we were concerned about our safety, he showed us his VERY BIG knife that he would use to protect us! He took us around all the tourist spots and then said "I showed you all the nice areas, don't you want to see the bad?" The "bad" reminded me of Santiago de Cuba ... there were people everywhere going about their business. Not bad at all! The casas I stayed in. Adela's in Santiago de Cuba was beautiful. She is a very wonderful person who made us feel very comfortable and right at home. I'll never forget that night her and Eduardo were singing a duet. "Priceless". Sidewalk Cafes. We sat outside at so many of them. I think my favorite was in Cienfuegos where Ali, Evelyn and I sat to rest. There was live music playing, cold drinks, people sitting and playing at the park across the street. We met a great cartoonist who drew pictures of Ali and myself. He did a nice job on both. I really like mine cuz he gave me assets I didn't know I have (wink!). Rodan Amodeus. Great concert hall. Nice park next door.
